Five years ago I was in labor with Michael. Wondering if this was really labor as I had never gone into labor on my own. His labor was fast and strong. I started feeling contractions when I put Madeline to bed around 7 or 8. Thinking it was more prodromal labor I paid it no attention. Later that evening Joe in a sleep deprived state wrote not strong and irregular on the paper he was recording contractions on. Oh what a thing to say to a pregnant mama. I'm surprised he is still here. LOL. By 2 am we called our doula wondering if this was it. She heard me throwing up and realizing I was in transition rushed to our house and helped us get ready to leave. This took a while, its hard to get out of the house when one is contracting every few minutes. A half hour drive later we arrived at the hospital and an hour after that at 4:51 am our beautiful baby boy was born after 9 minutes of pushing. March 22, 2003. 6 lbs, 6 oz.
